NeverSpam +
Smartlead.
The smartlead warmup integration that warms your real Smartlead sequence — not generic robot chit-chat. Paste your subject and body from Smartlead, we warm that against 100K+ real seed inboxes, and we tag senders back into Smartlead via API after every placement probe.
From Smartlead to inbox in 3 steps.
Connect your sender
Google OAuth (5-min Cloud setup) or SMTP/IMAP. Same senders you have plugged into Smartlead. No DNS changes, no MX rerouting.
Paste from Smartlead
Copy your Smartlead campaign step subject and body. Tokens like {{first_name}} stay as variables — we resolve them per seed inbox. We warm that — same subject, same body, same links.
Tags flow back into Smartlead
NeverSpam writes each sender's status — Active, Standby, Bad, or Delayed — to Smartlead via the /api/v1/leads/account/<id>/tag endpoint after every inbox-placement test.
Five-minute Smartlead warmup integration setup.
- 01
Generate a Smartlead API key
In Smartlead, open
Settings → API Keysand create a key with sender read + tag write scopes. - 02
Sign up for NeverSpam
Create an account at app.neverspam.com and pick a plan that matches your Smartlead sender count.
- 03
Connect senders
Use Google OAuth for Workspace, SMTP/IMAP for Microsoft 365. Connect the same senders Smartlead is using so warmup signal lands on the right reputation.
- 04
Paste your Smartlead campaign
Click New template → Paste from Smartlead. Drop in subject and body from each step of your sequence. NeverSpam auto-detects merge tags and lets you choose realistic per-seed resolution.
- 05
Paste the Smartlead API key
In NeverSpam, go to
Settings → Integrations → Smartlead. Drop in the API key and confirm the tag names you want written (defaults: Active / Standby / Delayed / Bad). - 06
Filter senders in Smartlead
In your Smartlead campaign, edit the sender pool and filter to senders tagged Active. Senders that NeverSpam flags Bad drop out of rotation until placement recovers.
- 07

Deliverability that transfers to Smartlead.
Template fidelity
Smartlead's built-in warmup pool exchanges friendly text emails between senders. The reputation it builds is for chit-chat threads — your real Smartlead sequences contain links, CTAs, and value props that filters score completely differently. NeverSpam warms the exact template, so reputation transfers to your real outbound.
Real seed pool
100K+ live seed addresses across Gmail, Workspace, Outlook.com, and Microsoft 365, including custom-domain Workspace tenants — which is where most Smartlead users are actually sending. Each send returns a real Inbox / Promotions / Spam / Updates placement, not a synthetic score.
Smartlead tag automation
NeverSpam pushes a sender tag back to Smartlead via /api/v1/leads/account/<id>/tag. Your campaign filters on tag, so a sender NeverSpam marks Bad pauses itself in Smartlead with zero manual triage.
Questions, answered.
Does Smartlead have warmup built in?
Smartlead ships a sender warmup pool — short conversational emails exchanged between senders in the Smartlead pool. It builds reputation for the sending address but not for your actual outbound template, which is what spam filters score when your real Smartlead campaign launches. NeverSpam is template-based: we warm the exact subject and body you'll send.
How does the NeverSpam Smartlead warmup integration differ from native Smartlead warmup?
Smartlead's built-in warmup is sender-only. NeverSpam is the only template-based warmup that plugs into Smartlead — you paste the actual subject and body of your sequence, and we warm it against 100K+ real seed inboxes across Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook, and Microsoft 365. Reputation builds on the content you're going to send, not a generic chit-chat thread.
Can NeverSpam tag Smartlead senders via API?
Yes. We use the Smartlead leads/accounts tagging endpoint to write a sender tag after every inbox-placement probe — Active, Standby, Delayed, or Bad. Build a Smartlead campaign filter on those tags and your worst-performing senders silently drop out of rotation until they recover.
Do I need to turn off Smartlead's warmup pool?
You can run them in parallel for a week or two to compare placement, but once NeverSpam's template-based signal kicks in we recommend turning Smartlead's warmup off. Two warmup tools means double the inbound seed mail in your sender inbox and conflicting signal — pick the one warming the content you actually send.
Will NeverSpam work with Smartlead's unified inbox and multi-channel features?
NeverSpam is purely warmup — we don't touch Smartlead's unified inbox, reply detection, or multi-channel orchestration. We operate on the sender level: connect the same Workspace or Microsoft 365 senders you have in Smartlead, paste your template, and let the warmup run on a separate schedule from your real outbound campaign.
How long until placement improves on a Smartlead campaign?
Most senders see meaningfully better inbox placement within 7–10 days. New domains and freshly provisioned Workspace senders need the full 21–30 day ramp. See our warmup duration breakdown for the day-by-day math.
Is this an official Smartlead integration?
NeverSpam uses Smartlead's public REST API for sender tag automation. We're not affiliated with Smartlead — we're an independent template-based warmup service built specifically for teams running cold outbound on Smartlead.
